I didn't realize it had been a month since I last updated. Well, let's see - I survived the rest of Student Teaching. The last day was so sweet. They had cake and each of the kids made me a card. ♥ They gave me a thermus that they had all signed..which I was pretty excited about because I had been wanting one for a while. They also gave me a really cute bag embrodered with my name and filled with a bunch of teacher stuff. My teacher and I performed for the kids, just a few little songs. It was a weird feeling, being done. The next week after that, I started subbing. I was in Kindergarten for a day and then I subbed for my class for 2 days! It was a lot of fun, they really enjoyed it. :) All last week, I was with the Kindergarten kids aiding again. They're really fun, but I don't know if I could teach that age.. if nothing else, because I can't sing, LOL. Oh, and we can't forget missing graduation. There was a stupid snowstorm. :( Ugh. Well, I might go back and walk in May.. I haven't decided yet though. So anyways, it's nice to have a break with nothing to do. On Sunday, we had our best holiday party ever. We started with a Mary Kay party. It was tons of fun! My face was probably thinking, what the hell? because it usually doesn't get that good of treatment.. ;) I bought 2 eye colors and a lip color! The lipstick is a little brighter than I usually have, but it looks good if I put another color over it. :) Then we exchanged presents for our Secret Santas. I had Becca and she loved the movie.. and Jess had me. She got me PS I Love You (the book) and a gift card to Barnes & Noble. I started reading it and it's soo good! She also got me a pink hat/scarf/gloves set because we exchanged outside the Secret Santa. Then we went out to Claim Jumpers, which was yummy! It was awfully cold, though. Jess, Erin and I took a great picture. ;) After dinner, we came back and had ice cream with a bunch of delicious toppings. I'd probably have just the toppings if I could. ;) I stayed the night at Jess's and in the morning, we went on a hunt for a gingerbread house. We finally found one at Michaels. Aside from one of the sides falling to the floor and breaking in a million pieces (but we frosted it back together!), it came together pretty nicely.

Yesterday I went shopping and got 2 cute sweaters at Old Navy, both on sale for $20. :D Then today, I went to Orland Park and hung out with Nicole and Trisha. We had lunch at Corner Bakery and went shopping. I got some new comfy sweatpants from Old Navy, since mine have a bunch of holes in them.

Can't wait for ice skating in Millennium Park on Saturday. :)

All good things must come to an end..

I wish the end of student teaching didn't equal extreme stress and frustration. I am going to miss these kids like nobody's business. It's just all the stuff that I have to finish before Dec. 6th that's killing me. In reality, it probably isn't a lot, but it just feels like it right now. Maybe after I get all this stuff done for subbing, I'll feel better. I hope I can start soon after student teaching is over. I just want a night where I don't feel like pulling my hair out because I'm worried that there's something that needs to be done that I didn't do. :(

I already feel like break is going fast..

This is not good. Life needs to slow down a little bit, because I don't like break going quite this fast. :(

So the weekend was pretty relaxing. Ohio State beat Michigan, which I was pretty excited about. It's the only day that you will see me rooting for OSU..although that may change once I see who they're playing in the Rose Bowl. :-P And Illinois won! I was surprised about that. I also did a little shopping..found a sweater for Thanksgiving and my dad's office xmas party. I also bought a really cute hat. I almost bought some slippers.. it was a good deal, only $9. Then they shed over everything before I could even get them out of the store..so I decided against that. It worked out anyway because when I was cleaning my closet, I found a perfectly good pair. :) Sunday...I don't think I left the house at all.

It felt so nice sleeping in today. Even nicer than Saturday and Sunday.. because it felt like I needed to get up at 6:45 for school, but instead, I didn't have to be there till 4! Horray! Conferences weren't bad. Time went by alot faster than I thought it would. We only have a few left tomorrow..so hopefully I'll get alot done in between. Today, I also went to the Woodridge district office and got the packet I need to fill out to become a sub. It's a little extensive. =/ I think I need a physical...booooo.

I didn't get to watch Dancing with the Stars tonight..but I did watch the Hills. Heidi is so dumb. She was THIS close to ending it with Spencer..and then she, of course, goes crawling back to him. Sigh.

Well, time for bed.. yay for Speezy's album tomorrow!! :)

Soo ready for Thanksgiving break after tomorrow. :) I love these kids, but I need a break.

Conferences are Monday and Tuesday..and then Wednesday I am seeing Nicole and Dayna will be here! Then Turkey Day, of course..and seeing Jess on Friday for Enchanted at Hollywood Blvd. :D Of course there will be lots of sleep!! I'm so looking forward to catching up on all that I've lost in the past few weeks.

For once, I don't have hours of grading to do! This feels nice. :)

*whines* I really want to win Bon Jovi/Daughtry tickets from the Mix!! Why must I get busy signal after busy signal. :( I never win anything.

In other news, I'm coming along on my unit plan. Staying home today was a good idea. :)

Back to freezing my butt off..

Well, school was certainly interesting today. I was so excited that the poems went well since they had never written cinquains before, but then the power went off and we couldn't go to the computer lab. =/

In other news, Israel is looking not so good. I called today and was told that we're on a waiting list. I don't want to be such a debbie downer, but it just doesn't look good. The probability of all 3 of us getting off the list is so unlikely. Sigh. It just makes me so mad because I've been looking forward to this, thinking we were actually gonna get to go. Now it seems like next winter may be a better option. I know it's better then not at all, but still.

About 18 days left of student teaching. Holy shit. I'm gonna miss these kids soo much. :'(

Another week..

Another week has come and gone. It seemed to go really slow. I had my last seminar on Monday.. which seems so long ago. I stopped by school afterwards to pick up something for a lesson the next day, and the kid were SO excited. It was cute. They were all gasping and throwing question after question at me..I could barely get a word in, LOL. They all wanted to come with me. I almost stayed, but I hadn't eaten lunch yet and I definitely wasn't ready for the next day. It's hard to believe that in just about a month, student teaching will be over. Thanksgiving is in a few weeks! It seems like it was just yesterday that it was August. Let's see.. my second money lesson in Math went well. The kids like to use the play money. Thursday was my first day of teaching reading. I was nervous, just because reading was never my strong point in school so teaching it was going to be kind of hard. It went well, though. Math, however, was another story. We were doing bar graphs and I was just getting ahead of myself and making stupid mistakes. The kids were erasing and they were all confused. I wanted to cry when it was over. =( The afternoon was fun, though. I performed for the kids by juggling and playing my trumpet. They got a kick out of it.

On Friday, I was nervous in the back of my mind all day because I was thinking about whether or not I passed the APT test..but it turns out that I DID!!! I'm so relived. So glad that all the tests are over and I don't have to pay any more money or stress over it anymore. It was so nice to actually go out and do stuff today instead of re-taking the test. Jill and I went out to lunch at Claim Jumpers and then saw Dan in Real Life. It was really cute. :) The only thing I feel bad about is that I was gonna go see Jess this weekend, but because I didn't know about this stupid test, I couldn't. :(

In other news, we still don't know about Israel. It's making me really mad. I just want to know. :(

That's about it.. I have a headache. I'm looking forward to that extra hour of sleep tonight!

I'm slowly coming to the realization that summer is ending soon and when summer ends, student teaching begins. It's not going to hit me that I'm not going back until everyone is at band camp and I'm not. =/ I got a letter from the school district today with some information about the first couple days. It was all official and everything. Kinda freaks me out a bit. Moving on.. I only have about 2 weeks left at work. Some of the things I do I don't think I'll miss, but I'll definitely miss the people. :( The girl that's replacing me is coming in the week after next and I have to train her. Most of the stuff I'm like okay, I can teach this to somebody else..but some things I get real nervous thinking about trying to explain. I suppose it's just good practice for what's to come.. although teaching someone my age and teaching elementary school kids are two totally different things. (i.e. lame block projects..) Also, I'm kind of getting frustrated at myself because I keep making dumb mistakes at work. Things that I shouldn't even be doing wrong anymore bc I have done them every day for the past 3 months. =/

In other news, I see my loves Blake and Chris in 5 days...for free. :D I really wish I knew where the tickets were, but Allstate Arena is lame and apparently you can't call the box office. If I could only know the tickets were actually there, I'd feel a lot better.

Erin and I are going to visit Jess this weekend in Peoria!! I'm soo excited!! :D :D

I think that's all for now.

Great weekend

This weekend was great, I'm sad it had to end. :( I took a half day of work on Friday and only worked until the check run was basically finished. I sat around for most of the afternoon, though, and we headed downtown around 4. It took FOREVER to get there because of traffic. It was so backed up.. I looked at the cars around us and I saw people doing puzzles. Once we got to Danielle's, we had drinks for a bit and then headed to dinner. We went to this great place, Fultons on the River. We ate outside and there was a great view and of course the Chicago River. My dinner was good - hallibot with crab and goat cheese - but I seemed to be the only one who enjoyed it. We got yummy crab legs for an apetizer and I tried sushi for the first time. Afterwards, we went to Emmits (a bar) where a creepy guy hit on Dayna, Danielle and I. We got home around 11 and it felt so good to sleep in! I got up around 9 and Dayna & I were going to go out for a run, but it was raining..as it did all day. :( We made the centerpieces for the party and then went out to Target and Jimmy Johns. Mmm. ♥ I relaxed most of the afternoon until it was time to get ready. I absolutely loved my outfit and couldn't wait to wear it! I'm being lazy about uploading pictures.. there's one on MySpace. :P The reception was at Maggiano's and it was a great success! Everyone seemed to have a good time. The only downfall was me forgetting my ID. I had someone else get me something and the bartender actually came up to me and asked if I had my ID and when I didn't show him anything, he took the drink away. I was pissed because anyone in that room could have vouched for me. He ended up believing me and it was a little uncomfortable every time I saw him after that. The dinner was awesome and we had some left over, so we had it tonight! Yummy. For dessert, there was chocolate cake and tirimisu. ♥ All in all, it was a great night. I saw some people that I hadn't gotten to see in a long time! On Sunday, Dayna's parents came over and we had a little brunch. That afternoon my mom and I went shopping. I bought a brown purse to cure the problem of not carrying my ID since I didn't have a purse to put it in. :P I looked for a wallet, but then my mom said I could just use one of her old ones..and I couldn't find some casual brown shoes. :( I relaxed for the rest of the night.. we were all SO exhausted. I actually went to bed at 10 for once, like I always plan to.

The day at work definitely dragged today. The morning felt like FOREVER long. I managed to get everything done, though, and I was looking for things to do again. I guess I really need to start slowing down..but some things, you can only do so slow! Oh well. I'm sure I will get hit with 2938409384 invoices to enter tomorrow, since I didn't even get any of what came in the mail today and Monday is usually the biggest pile. It kinda worries me that I didn't get anything. I knew it'd be alot, but yikes!

Now I think I am gonna go watch Hells Kitchen! Yay! :)

Another week in my life..

It's only been a little over a week since I've updated last. I'm getting better! So this past weekend, I had Jess's graduation party and that was fun. It was nice seeing everybody. Then on Monday after work, Jess, Denise and I went to the Hollywood theater to see Pirates 3. We planned it on this day bc we thought we could use our free admission passes, but they turned out to be buy one get one free. Lame. The movie was still pretty good, though. I heard that there might be a 4th one, but I dunno if I believe it. Thursday was my 22nd birthday. Kinda uneventful..but when you work a 8-5 job, that's what happens. :P From my parents, I got a Bebe shirt, which is soo cute..and there were a few shirts that I got a few weeks ago that they said were also my birthday presents. From Aaron and Dayna, I got a really cute purse and a purple shall. Yay. :) Yesterday was pay day (always a nice present!) and we went out to lunch to say bye to Dave. We went to Friday's and it was yummy! I drove myself and I swear that every time I think 55 is gonna be okay, it isn't. It was even backed up on the ramp! It moved a little quicker than I thought it would, but it still took way too long to get home. Once I got home, I got ready for my cousin's baby shower. I finally met his wife.. most of the things they got were pretty adorable. I was exhausted when we got home..it was soo nice to sleep in! My parents have been downtown all day, so I've just been hanging out. I worked out and everything..then I found The Biggest Loser marathon on Bravo and I've been sitting here on the couch being a bum and watching it all afternoon. When my parents get back, we're going to Phillies for dinner. Yummy! :) Jill and I were going to meet at Woodfield..but she ended up having to work, so maybe we'll be able to see each other tomorrow.
